STARPAY RECOGNIZED AS OUTSTANDING BSP STAKEHOLDER
MANILA, PHILIPPINES— Starpay Corporation was recognized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as one of its Outstanding Stakeholders for 2021 in the recently held Outstanding BSP Stakeholders’ Appreciation Ceremony, themed “Pagpupugay at Pagkilala…sa Gitna ng Hamon ng Pandemya.”
“We give recognition to you, our partners, who have gone beyond the call of duty in the name of service at the height of the global health crisis… As we gear up toward recovery, we are also building the foundation of the ‘New Economy’ through digitalization and financial inclusion. Financial technology makes transactions easier and faster, which in turn, speeds up income. It also makes financial products and services accessible to a greater number of people, which in turn, enhances financial inclusion,” said BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno during his keynote address at the event.
Starpay President Lamberto Scarella and Head of Operations Richard Rosettes both received the tokens of appreciation from the BSP and shared in their message of support that “Starpay is one with the BSP in its push for the digitalization of financial services. The inclusive economy is one where all stakeholders stand to benefit, and we are committed to serving the nation in our vision to become the Pitaka ng Bayan. This motivates us to continue working to provide the widest and most convenient range of innovative digital financial services that serves the greatest good to all”.
In the last year, Starpay has seen tremendous growth on its platform, with more Filipinos making the shift to using digital financial technologies to take part in the ‘New Economy’ as shared by Governor Diokno. With Starpay, users can pay their bills online, buy e-load, send money through InstaPay, and purchase Gaming PINs, with more developments being made to address the needs of the unbanked communities. Starpay also successfully assisted in the distribution of ayuda to over 5.8 million Filipinos nationwide through its 6,000 partner outlets, organized on-site payouts, and disbursement through the Starpay app.
